5.0 out of 5 stars Cool Heat & Save Up to 35% on Electricity, November 26, 2007
This review is from: Honeywell HZ-7200 Cool Touch Oscillating Heater w/ Smart Energy Digital Control Plus (Kitchen)
Enjoy a softly warm flow of circulated heat by selecting this very quiet heater's oscillation that rotates up to about circle.

Here's how it has been designed to save up to 35% on electricity, which means a small contribution to lowering greenhouse gases - on the top of this heater is its Energy Smart knob that has six basic settings: -- "frost watch" - 65 F. - 70 F. - 75 F. - 80 F. - maximum heat.

On "Maximum Heat" the heater goes full force and does not save electricity. On the other settings the heater automatically selects the appropriate power level to best accommodate your desired temperature selected. As the temperature in the room approaches the set temperature, the heater will automatically lower the power consumption and provide consistent warmth without wasting energy. This also means your room will heat to the set temperature without overheating the room -- a real nice feature.

The illuminated LED lights indicate what the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars great heater! highly recommended!, October 28, 2008
This review is from: Honeywell HZ-7200 Cool Touch Oscillating Heater w/ Smart Energy Digital Control Plus (Kitchen)
I love this little heater! I bought this to help heat my trailer. It does such a great job that my furnace has hardly kicked on, even on the 32 degree and below nights we have already had! I really like how you can set the temperature and the heater actually seems to run and heat according to the actual room temp, not the heaters temp or the immediate areas temp. When I was out looking at heaters, a Lowe's employee told me that the thermostat is on the top of the heater so the closer to the floor you can place it the more accurate the heater's thermostat will read, so therefore the heater will run more accurately. I have mine set about 18" off the floor at one end of a 450sq. ft area. My thermostat is across the room and reads fairly close to what I have the heater set for!!!
I also bought this for the safety features. The outside stays cool and if it tips over it shuts off. I have a curious 1 year old so these features were very important to me. It also has a slim design so it... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars The heater works perfectly!, October 28, 2008
This review is from: Honeywell HZ-7200 Cool Touch Oscillating Heater w/ Smart Energy Digital Control Plus (Kitchen)
I bought this heater at Wal-Mart for $40.00 so Amazon's price is higher plus it doesn't include taxes and shipping. The unit itself is wonderful. I have a 15x14 bedroom and it gets my room up to 80 degrees in no time. It's not extremely quiet but it's not so loud that it drowns out the TV. I love the fact you can tell what temperature it is in the room right on the heater and that it swivels back and forth on it's own. The feature that was most important to me is that the front face/grill of it wouldn't be hot to the touch and no matter what the temperature it stays cool. So I don't have to worry about anyone getting burned or it tipping over on something and burning the house down.

I bought another heater (smaller) for my office cubicle and that one's going back because it throws heat but only in one direction and the front/grill gets hot. For it to be effective it would have to sit on my desk and that's not possible. So, I'll just pick-up another Honeywell. I... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but it doesn't have thermostat control, November 24, 2010

This review is from: Dimplex #CS12056A Compact Electric Stove, Black (Kitchen)
The product description says "On-demand heat with thermostat control". It has a switch for high and low heat but no thermostat other than according to the manual if it overheats it will turn the heater off and wont come back one without being reset by switching off and on again. So this was disappointing and the product description should really be revised.

When I first turned it on it made a clunk clunk noise so I turned it off and took off the back panel and found the thing that rotates had fallen out of one of it's mounts. It was easy to put back in the mount and after that it works fine and quiet.

It's nice and small so can be moved from room to room.

Flames look pretty good and heater also seems effective for a small room.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little heater, January 5, 2011
This review is from: Dimplex #CS12056A Compact Electric Stove, Black (Kitchen)
This is a great little heater and the price is right. I use it with a programmable thermostatic plug and have it programmed to turn on about an hour before I get up, so my living room is nice and toasty when I sit down to have my coffee and read the paper, without having to heat the entire house that early. (I live in Flagstaff, and it does get cold). WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat

5.0 out of 5 stars No worries with Amazon and Dimplex, October 10, 2011

This review is from: Dimplex #CS12056A Compact Electric Stove, Black (Kitchen)
Dimplex #CS12056A compact electric stove. I order this stove on Friday the Oct.7th, and it is here Monday, the 10th. Amazon, you're the best!
I bought the Dimplex because I all ready own a larger model, that is five years old,and has worked great from the start. It was $99.00 back then. I wanted to buy another one, but then all of a sudden the prices went crazy, a similar Dimplex to the orignal one was going for $300. So in the mean time I bought a small Duraflame model.Big dissappointment. Sounded like a hair dryer when you turned on the heat and the flame motor by itself was noisy. I immediately wanted the quiet flame and heater of a Dimplex model.
This Dimplex compact model is a good size for this 130 year old farmhouse.I all ready tested the flame and heat, no noise at all.So now I have two Dimplex models. Both are centerpieces, one for the living room and one for the family room.

5.0 out of 5 stars finally a room heater that does just that. no bonus noise, weight or danger, October 15, 2007

This product is very similar to the higher priced BH3900. The review below also applies to this.
---
My new home came with central heating. I loved the convenience, but wanted a heater for the bedroom so I didn't have to heat the entire home through the night, when it was only one room we needed heat in. There began my quest for a portable electric heater!

My first try was a Bionaire Digital Tower Ceramic Heater. It went right back to the store the moment I realized how powerful (read : noisy) the fan inside was. It did do a decent job warming up the room though.

I knew I'd like something quiet. Real quiet. My next try was an Oil Filled Radiator. It was much quieter - just low clicking sounds (probably from the metal or oil expanding?) - but failed to impress on heating. It took almost an hour to make a significant difference to a cold room (12x14) - and barely kept the temperature up through the night with the thermostat dialled up. When in... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars good customer service, April 11, 2009

This review is from: Bionaire BH3950-U Silent Micathermic Heater with Adjustable Thermostat (Kitchen)
We bought this model from Costco in October, 2006 and used it for about two years, with pretty much continual usage from October to May. It's quiet and puts out enough heat for a large room. It stopped working after two years. I noticed that it was still under warranty so I contacted (emailed) customer service at Bionaire. They were very cooperative and sent us a new unit at no charge.

I disassembled the older unit and it seemed well built. I found that the on off switch was broken. This is a "snap in" plastic switch and if you are careful you can pry it out of the faceplate with a small screwdriver or knife. For those of you who may have a similar problem the switch is a round, illuminated SPST rocker type and it's made by a factory in China under the brand name RLEIL model RL3-5. Either the switch broke and then fried or it overheated and some plastic melted internally. In any case the switch doesn't appear to be as heavy duty as it should be and I would... Read more

This review is from: Bionaire BH3950-U Silent Micathermic Heater with Adjustable Thermostat (Kitchen)
One of the reasons I like shopping at Amazon is that you get to research the product you're interested in by getting some real feedback on the product from actual owners. I find that part extremely valuable. Anyway back to my thoughts on the Bionaire BH3950-U Silent Micathermic Heater with Adjustable Thermostat. Keep in mind I only had this heater for a few days. First thing is that shipping was incredibly fast. I selected Super Saver shipping which knocked out the shipping charge and I was expecting it to arrive a bit slower than regular shipping but to my surprise I received the heater in 2 days. I was not expecting that at all. There is a bit of assembly required with this heater but trust me, it is minimal. You'll just have to attach a set of wheels, a set of foot pegs and then the handle. All of it was done without tools. Yes that's right. Without tools. The screws that were supplied were the wing-nut or thumbscrew type so you honestly don't need a screwdriver and the assembly...
